When I turned to society I was met with a simple explanation to my query in the form of a question
The question society offered up was simple: Did he put it in?
Let’s not stop to mention that if he did you’re likely to be condemned of a cardinal sin.
So let’s just focus on if he didn’t, what then?
If you and your sexual partner decided not to insert his penis into your vagina.
Or maybe just you decided.
Or maybe it was his choice.
Either way, you spent some time exploring each other’s bodies, maybe somebody got a little bit moist.
But maybe his penis stayed in his pants your hands stayed above the covers
Apparently you don’t have the right to still be called lovers.
Did he put it in?
Now here’s some more problems with this question:
What if the “him” was a her? A her could never put it in.
Unless she used some kind of plastic apparatus but
if it’s your first time
that idea really doesn’t present itself as the safest or the smartest
What if the him and the him don’t want to put it in? And what if that’s okay
What if the him and her don’t bump the uglies but still get to know each other intimately in all the right ways?
What if the her and her never let themselves believe in a truely loving relationship they have achieved?
That’s not to say that sex equals love. But sex is a standard of measure that hardly any in this society are above.
Did he put it in?
If you’ve done it. You’ve done it.
If you haven’t better hurry up
loose the V ticket before you get so old it’s embarrassing.
You can’t get to twenty and still not have done the thing.
Putting it in is a box nobody should have to tick like a chore
to be able to label themselves sexually mature.
So I think it’s time to redefine the idea of sexual intercourse
Loosing your virginity can be whatever experience you define as true intimacy.
So don’t put it in. Or do.
Put it in lots of time or very few.
Play around with just cuddling, physically touching
Whatever it is, you get to define
To you what sexually intimacy is
So in answer to the question: Did he put it in? Am I still a virgin?
I say: Fuck you.
